Website Audit & Rebuild Proposal

Charting Masarat's
next route online.

Masarat Misr plans the movement of cities. Its website should move just as intelligently. This is a full technical audit of masarat-misr.com and three clear routes to a faster, bilingual, credibility-building platform — built by HBS.

01 — THE CONTEXT

A leading consultancy on an outdated platform.

Masarat Misr is an established mobility, urban-planning and smart-cities consultancy working across Egypt and the wider EMEA region — with a portfolio that includes the AUC Urban Mobility Plan, Cairo Festival City, the Suez Canal Economic Zone transport project, and Hajj & Umrah automation for Vision 2030. The credibility is real. The website representing it is not keeping up.

The current site runs on a WordPress build from the 2015–2019 era — heavy, slow, single-language, and carrying a known-vulnerable slider plugin. For a firm that sells intelligence, technology and precision, that gap between reputation and digital presence quietly costs trust with every enterprise prospect, government partner, and Gulf client who visits. We audited it properly. Here is exactly what we found.

02 — THE AUDIT

What the numbers say.

Live technical audit of the homepage using Google Lighthouse. Scores are graded on Google's own bands: 90–100 healthy, 50–89 needs work, below 50 poor.

Good — one bright spot
Measured on a fast desktop connection. On the mobile 4G networks most of Masarat's MENA and Gulf visitors actually use, real-world load times run materially slower — the ~11 MB homepage is the core culprit.
03 — THE FINDINGS

Six issues, ranked by severity.

The score is a symptom. These are the causes — and they cluster into problems that are as much about security and reputation as they are about speed.

Security & stack risk

Critical
  • Running Slider Revolution 5.4.8 — a plugin version from roughly 2016 with well-documented, widely-exploited vulnerabilities.
  • The exact plugin and version are exposed in the page's meta tags, effectively advertising the weakness to attackers.
  • Aged WordPress theme (Archi) plus heavy plugin overhead — an expanding attack surface and no clear update path.

Speed & performance

Critical
  • Homepage weighs ~10.9 MB and takes 9.5 s to show its main content.
  • Unoptimised images, no modern formats (WebP), no lazy-loading, no text compression.
  • A six-slide revolving hero (RevSlider) is the single biggest drag on load time.

Broken links & neglect signals

High
  • A live Google+ link in the header — a network shut down in 2019. An unmistakable "untouched for years" signal.
  • Header social icons point to generic facebook.com / twitter.com, not Masarat's real profiles.
  • Project filter links (Urban Mobility, Traffic Studies, Parking…) are dead anchors that go nowhere.

Content & polish

High
  • Multiple visible spelling errors in core copy — "diveristy", "oppurtunites", "Managment", "Chariman", "INELLIGENT".
  • Images and case content dated 2015 — nearly a decade old on a firm doing 2030-vision work.
  • Fragile mixed architecture: a WordPress homepage stitched to loose static .html sub-pages.

Regional reach (no Arabic)

High
  • The site is English-only despite Masarat targeting the Gulf and wider Arabic-speaking MENA market.
  • No Arabic content means invisibility in Arabic search and to Arabic-first government and enterprise buyers.
  • No RTL experience — a structural ceiling on regional credibility and lead flow.

Authority left on the table

High
  • Genuinely impressive projects (AUC, Suez Canal Zone, Hajj 2030) are listed as thumbnails, not case studies.
  • No insights, articles or thought-leadership — nothing to earn organic search or demonstrate expertise.
  • What's already good: strong positioning & mission copy, a serious project roster, and a stable layout (near-zero layout shift). We build on these, not over them.

What this is quietly costing Masarat

An outdated site doesn't just look dated — it leaks trust and opportunity at the exact moment a high-value prospect is deciding whether Masarat is a serious partner.

01

Lost visitors. A 9.5-second wait means most mobile prospects leave before the page even appears.

02

Brand & security risk. A known-vulnerable plugin puts the firm's name one exploit away from defacement.

03

Invisible in the Gulf. No Arabic = no ranking and no resonance with Arabic-first decision-makers.

04

Wasted credibility. Landmark projects aren't presented as proof, so they don't win the next mandate.

05

Perceived neglect. Dead Google+ links and typos tell enterprise clients the details aren't minded.

06

Zero inbound engine. No insights, no SEO depth — the site attracts nothing and nurtures no one.

05 — THE APPROACH

How HBS builds.

Modern engineering, senior craft, no lock-in. A focused senior team delivers agency-grade design and build at a pace legacy WordPress shops can't match — and hands you a platform that's genuinely yours to run and update.

Every route below is delivered on this same process. What changes between them is depth, reach, and how far we take Masarat's digital authority.

01

Discover

Kickoff, brand & content review, sitemap and goals locked with your team.

02

Design

Modern, on-brand direction — reviewed and signed off before a line of production code.

03

Build

Fast, secure, responsive development, with your content migrated and structured into the new design.

04

Optimise

Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, security hardening and cross-device QA.

05

Launch & handover

Go-live, analytics, and a CMS your team controls — with training where included.

06 — THE ROUTES

Three ways forward.

Same destination — a fast, secure, credible platform. Each route takes Masarat a little further: from a clean modern rebuild, to a bilingual authority presence, to a bespoke regional flagship.

07 — WHY HBS

The right partner for this build.

// bilingual by default

Built for MENA

Native EN/AR, RTL and Arabic-first SEO are core competencies — not an afterthought bolted on at the end.

// senior & focused

Faster, without cutting corners

A small senior team ships agency-grade work in weeks, not the months legacy WordPress shops take — with quality and strategy owned end to end.

// modern engineering

Real performance & security

Next.js, headless CMS and Core Web Vitals discipline — the difference between the current 9.5 s and a sub-2 s load.

// search & GEO native

Found on Google — and by AI

We optimise for classic search and Generative Engine Optimization, so Masarat surfaces when clients ask AI assistants too.

// you own it

No lock-in

You keep the code, the content and a CMS your team controls. Vendor independence is a principle we build in.

// local, senior

Cairo-based & accountable

A senior team in your timezone, reachable directly — with a portfolio of B2B builds across the region.

Next steps

Let's pick the route.

The recommended starting point is Professional Presence — the bilingual, authority-building tier most Masarat prospects and Gulf clients will judge the firm by. Reply to confirm a route, or book a 30-minute call and we'll walk through it together.
